M/A MJØ II is a specialised drilling, diving and dredging barge developed for demanding maritime missions. The vessel is 46.5 metres long and 12.5 metres wide, and was last refitted in 2011 to meet modern requirements for efficiency and safety. Onboard there are powerful electric generators, large tanks for fresh water, technical water and diesel, as well as an Atlas Copco compressor ensuring stable working air for all operations.
The dredging equipment consists of a robust Hägglunds crane with a lifting capacity of 20 tonnes and a grab bucket of 3.5 cubic metres, providing a daily capacity of up to 600 cubic metres. The vessel is equipped with a modern Sandvik DX900i drilling rig from 2022, which offers high precision and efficiency in drilling work.
M/A MJØ II has good facilities for the crew, including engine room, storage, sanitary facilities with shower, toilet and drying room, lounge and workshop. Navigation and positioning are handled by GPS systems.
For underwater operations, the barge has a complete diving station with outlets for four types of diving equipment and the possibility for two divers to work simultaneously. Safety is ensured with a Dräger decompression chamber, digital depth monitoring from Thelma, moonpool and a diving lift with capacity for two persons and work equipment. For optimal visibility underwater, the vessel is equipped with eight powerful LED lamps with a total output of 10 kW.
M/A MJØ II combines robust construction, modern equipment and good working conditions, making it an efficient tool for demanding assignments in drilling, diving and dredging.
