NCC was commissioned by Forsvarsbygg to build a new Submarine Quay at the naval base Haakonsvern in Bergen. The marine contractor is carrying out the underwater work in the project.
The project is classified as confidential and details cannot be provided. For the marine contractor, the work consists of dredging loose materials, underwater drilling and blasting, excavation of blasted rock, underwater rock reinforcement with horizontal and vertical bolts, and various concrete works underwater. Use and operation of bubble curtains and hydrophones for noise and vibration reduction during blasting.
