Environmental dredging is a specialised and gentle method for removing contaminated materials from the seabed. This process is particularly important in areas where the sediments contain environmental toxins such as heavy metals, oil products, TBT and PCB. By conducting environmental dredging in a controlled manner, we help improve water quality, reduce the risk of spreading environmental toxins, and create safe conditions for the continued use of marine areas.

Environmental dredging is therefore crucial for removing toxins from the sediments, improving water quality and increasing biodiversity. At the same time, it paves the way for new and sustainable use of areas previously affected by pollution, and reduces the risk of contamination spreading to new areas.

We use methods such as closed grabs for precise and controlled removal of materials, suction dredging where there is a lot of fine material and a high degree of contamination, as well as covering the seabed to prevent remaining environmental toxins from spreading. All projects are planned with a focus on environmental monitoring, quality assurance and minimal impact on nature.

Our experience is documented through several successful reference projects, including the work we have carried out at Alcoa Mosjøen. Here, we removed and covered contaminated sediments in a former industrial area. The project was recognised with the highest CEEQUAL certification for sustainability, which emphasises our ability to deliver environmental projects at the very highest level.
