Environmental project organised by Alcoa in Mosjøen harbour.
The marine contractor was responsible for the marine works on the project. This initially involved the installation and monitoring of protective measures around the seawater intake for Alcoa's aluminium plant. Aluminium production is entirely dependent on the seawater intake to function optimally, and it was important to secure this throughout the construction period.
Furthermore, the work involved dredging and disposal of both contaminated and non-contaminated masses. Finally, we performed covering of the seabed with delivered masses, as well as riprap in selected areas. A total of approximately 30,000 m3 was dredged and just under 19,000 m3 was deposited.
We take care of the ocean – one project at a time.
